Programme Objectives

General

 To train in a production, industrial and commercial environment about the specific and interdisciplinary issues related to the Beef Value Chain and with the technologies that constrain and enhance its performance.             

 Specific

-          To promote the interaction between theory and professional practice, with emphasis on the latter, to be developed through the programme.

-          To understand quality as an essential concept in the whole Beef Value Chain

-          To diagnose general and particular problems that appear in the different links of the chain

-          To analyze the phenomena that determine Beef Quality in an interdisciplinary frame and from the consumer's perspective

-          To interpreter the results resulting from Beef Quality analysis

-          To give innovative answers to difficulties arising in the management of the Beef Chain and propose new alternatives to actual strategies

-          To forecast future repercussions and probable changes that might happen along the chain and their effects in the domestic and international markets

-          To evaluate domestic and international macroeconomic conditions regarding a more competitive positioning of the End Product, and the profitability of the firms involved

 PROGRAMME ORGANIZATION

       Module I:  its goal is to provide students with the tools that allow the obtaining and processing of information and the method to approach and study problems or cases, and the formulation of projects. The time load for this module is 32 hs.

      Module II: consists of mandatory and optional courses to deepen specific knowledge about the activity. Seminars have been scheduled to be conducted by lecturers from abroad and Argentina, which goal is to treat specific problems and situations making a contribution for the integration of acquired knowledge throughout the programme. The time load for this module is 344 hs.

Module III: its goal is to gain experience in the resolution of a main and practical issue, developing a professional project under the guidance/tutoring of two professors, one into a professional and the other into a research profile. It can be develop in the work place or in firms implementing technological projects related to this P.G. programme. Its time load is 40 hs., and will conclude with the presentation of a written paper publicly defended in front an evaluation committee.
